【摘要】:Pitchdoesnotgothroughasolid-liquidphasechangewhenheatedandthereforedoesnothaveatruemeltingpoint.Asthetemperatureisraised,pitchsoftensandbecomeslessviscous.Thesofteningpointisarbitrarilydefinedandmustbedeterminedbyacloselycontrolledmethodthatmustbecarefullyfollowediftestresultsaretobereproducible.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtheconsistencyofpitchasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipmentsandsourcesofsupply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesofteningpointabove176176;F(80176;C)ofpitch.TestMethodD3104givescomparableresults.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
